Around the theme “From Waste to Wealth: powering economics, protecting nature”, the two-day thought-leadership forum uniquely dedicated to AD and biogas will in particular showcase the leadership of France in successfully deploying “methanization” across vast and diverse regional landscapes, and the strides accomplished in Latin America, notably in Mexico and Brazil - the latter with the implementation of WBA’s Making Biogas Happen program through a memorandum of understanding recently signed with the State Government of São Paulo.
The latest International Energy Agency’s report on biogas and biomethane, which illustrates the growing contribution made by the industry in supporting the development of a green global economy, will also underpin the discussions.
“In its recently released second Outlook for Biogas and Biomethane report, the International Energy Agency indicates that biomethane could meet up to 25% of global natural gas demand using readily available sustainable feedstock alone," commented Charlotte Morton OBE, WBA Chief Executive.
“This is the kind of forecast that demonstrates how significant our sector can become in supporting the global economy at a time of great geopolitical uncertainty. The World Biogas Summit is where the key players will gather to drive forward the development of biogas worldwide and help #MakeBiogasHappen. It’s a critical game-changing event that we’re proud to host and that shouldn’t be missed by anyone interested in ensuring global energy, food and climate security for the decades to come."
The World Biogas Summit will be co-located with the World Biogas Expo, organized by WBA in partnership with the UK Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and which will provide delegates with an opportunity to hear about the latest industry trends, discover technological innovations and engage with over 150 exhibitors in the hall.
