Suzlon Group to supply 98 MW to Mytrah Energy in Indian wind turbines deal

Wind turbine manufacturers Suzlon Group have announced an agreement to supply wind turbines to Mytrah Energy for a 98 MW project at Nazeerabad in Telangana state, India.

Suzlon will install and commission 47 S97 120m Hybrid Tower wind turbines, each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. The Nazeerabad wind farm project is due to be commissioned in 2016 and the order is part of the 1 GW Business Partnership Agreement (BPA) signed with Mytrah in May 2010. It is the third order in a row to be awarded to Suzlon Group by Mytrah. Suzlon has already commissioned 310 MW of wind energy for the company and a further 205 MW is currently under construction in Rajasthan, Maharashtra & Andhra Pradesh.

The S97 wind turbine is currently the world’s tallest Hybrid Tower, designed to harness wind energy across low wind sites. It’s tower consists of a combination of lattice and tubular structure in order to ensure higher yield and increased power output.
