Construction of the $40 million bio-fuel plant was first reported by The Hindu Business Line. Work is scheduled to get underway after the first of the year, with the plant coming online by the end of 2013.
The joint venture believes the facility, which will rely on recycled cooking oil, will be a gateway for greater reliance of bio-fuels into the Gulf market.
MEEP will provide the fuel to make the biogas, while Biomax will set up and operate the new facility.
